Diagnosis. Wingspan 44–45 mm. An unmistakable species differing clearly from other taxa of the group in the reddish-brown forewing colouration and well-defined contrasting pattern. The species is easily separated from the rest of the species-group in the presence of small pollex, large and broad cucullus, laterally directed carina with a very long eversible dorso-lateral bar and a very long band of spinules on terminal diverticulum in males, and by the short, almost quadrangular ostium bursae and very broad ductus bursae in the females.
Distribution. Tibetan. West China (Tibetan plateau).
