Descriptive notes. Length ca 10 – 13 mm (male, female), width of midbody metazonae 1.25 – 1.7 (male) or 1.4 – 2.1 mm (female), metazonite to prozonite width ratio <2.0 ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). Live coloration usually uniformly red or redbrown to pink, in alcohol brown to faded light brown or pinkish; legs light ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).

All characters as in P. abchasius ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 , 3D – 3G View FIGURE 3 , 4B View FIGURE 4 ), except as follows. Collum about as broad as head ( Fig. 2A, 2B, 2F View FIGURE 2 ). Paraterga 2 – 4 in female usually not upturned, subhorizontal ( Fig. 3G View FIGURE 3 ). Gonopod ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ) endomere rod typically axe-shaped apically.
