Description of Croceibacter atlanticus IMCC 12433

Cells are Gram­staining­negative, non­flagellated and rod­shaped (2.6 μm long, 0.8 μm wide). Colonies are circular, convex, smooth and yellow­colored after 3 days of incubation on MA at 15°C. Negative reactions are obtained for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. Does not utilize D­ glucose, L­ arabinose, D­ mannose, D­ mannitol, N ­acetyl­glucosamine, D­ maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain IMCC12433 (= NIBRBA 0000114868) was isolated from a sea water sample, East sea, Sokcho, Korea.
