Etymology. “tri” (Latin for “three”), “coloris” (Latin for “hue, tint”) and “corpus” (Latin for “body”), because of the tricoloured body.

Remarks. Zombrus tricoloricorpus sp. n. can be separated from Z. pallidiventris by the following characters: a) vein 1-CU1 of fore wing distinctly shorter than vein cu-a and 0.16 × vein 2-CU1 (vein 1-CU1 subequal to vein cu-a and 0.3 × vein 2-CU 1 in Z. pallidiventris ); b) Vein M+CU of hind wing 1.53 × vein 1-M (subequal in Z. pallidiventris ); c) Notauli transversely rugose posteriorly (almost smooth in Z. pallidiventris ); and d) Propodeum brown, fore wing dark brown entirely (propodeum entirely and fore wing basally yellow in Z. pallidiventris ).
