Amerodectes xanthocephali Mironov and Overstreet, 2015

Material examined. 6 males, 14 females from Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus (Bonaparte, 1826) ( Passeriformes : Icteridae ), (SM 2048), CANADA, Manitoba, Winnipeg, 8 September 2010, coll. T.D. Galloway.

This species was described from the Yellow-headed Blackbird, X. xanthocephalus , in Oregon, USA ( Mironov & Overstreet 2015). In Canada, this mite is recorded for the first time.
