Docophoroides irroratae Timmermann, 1962 View in CoL , described from Phoebastria irrorata View in CoL , is a junior synonym of Docophoroides ferrisi Harrison, 1937 ( Palma 1994a: 65) View in CoL . Furthermore, the type specimens of Docophoroides irroratae View in CoL are contaminants from Phoebastria nigripes Audubon, 1839 View in CoL (see Palma 1994a: 66). Therefore, we delete Docophoroides irroratae View in CoL from the louse fauna of the Galápagos Islands. Linsley (1977: 9) spelt the species name incorrectly as “ Docophoroides irroratus ”.
