Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the Tupi Indian language that means “mountain inhabitant”, and refers to the distribution of this species along the coastal mountains of São Paulo.
Diagnosis. The males of Caayaguara ybytyriguara sp. nov. resemble those of C. itajucamussi sp. nov. by the general conformation of the male palp, with RTA lacking both dorsal and ventral branches and embolus with a triangular subdistal projection ( Figs 49 View FIGURES 49 – 53 , 54 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ; sp). They are distinguished from the latter by the RTA with a triangular subdistal lobe ( Figs 54–55 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ; sl) and by the embolus with an inconspicuous pars pendula and small ventral keel ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ; ppl, vk). The females are distinguished from the remaining species of the genus by the touching part of the lateral lobes more than twice as long as the small median septum ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ).
Description. Male (IBSP 54408): Dorsal shield of prosoma orange, slightly darker along fovea and thoracic striae. Chelicerae slightly darker than prosoma. Legs and pedipalps orange. Sternum cream colored with pale orange margins. Labium and endites grayish orange, distally cream colored. Opisthosoma brownish gray, dorsally with two pairs of small marks anteriorly and one large mark posteriorly. Total length 9.7. Prosoma: 4.2 long, 3.9 wide. Opisthosoma: 5.4 long, 2.7 wide. Eye diameters: 0.28, 0.28, 0.20, 0.26; interdistances: 0.14, 0.04, 0.30, 0.28, 0.12, 0.10. Leg measurements: I: 27.5 (7.1, 2.5, 7.7, 7.8, 2.4); II: 31.3 (8.2, 2.6, 9.0, 8.9, 2.6); III: 19.4 (5.8, 1.8, 5.2, 5.1, 1.5); IV: 21.8 (6.2, 1.9, 5.6, 6.3, 1.8). Spination follows the generic pattern. Palp ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 71 – 82 ): RTA with triangular subdistal lobe and no dorsal projection ( Figs 54–55 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ). Embolus bifid, bent at tip ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ).
Female (IBSP 54504): Coloration pattern as in male, except opisthosoma orange brown, mottled with brown spots. Total length 11.2. Prosoma: 4.7 long, 4.3 wide. Opisthosoma: 6.6 long, 3.8 wide. Eye diameters: 0.30, 0.30, 0.20, 0.28; interdistances: 0.22, 0.06, 0.38, 0.34, 0.20, 0.14. Leg measurements: I: 21.0 (5.8, 2.6, 5.5, 5.4, 1.7); II: 6.7, 2.7, 6.5, 6.3, 1.9); III: 16.4 (5.0, 2.1, 4.1, 3.9, 1.3); IV: 17.9 (5.5, 2.0, 4.4, 4.6, 1.4). Spination follows the generic pattern, except tibiae I–II: d1-0-1. Epigynum: epigynal field rounded anteriorly, slightly longer than wide; lateral lobes large; median septum small, wider than long ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ). Vulva: pp longitudinal, 8–10 linearly arranged lobes; fd, transversal, almost 1.5 times longer than pp ( Fig. 57–58 View FIGURES 54 – 58 ).
Variation. Males (n = 10): total length 8.1–10.5; prosoma 3.6–4.3; femur I 6.5–7.2. Females (n = 10): total length 7.9–11.6; prosoma: 3.7–4.8; femur I 4.6–6.0.
Distribution. Known only from the state of São Paulo ( Fig. 86 View FIGURE 86 ).
