DISCUSSION OF FORM: Broadley and Gans (1978b: 331), Broadley and Broadley (1997: 18–19, and references therein).
RANGE: The northern and Mpumalanga provinces of South Africa, extending from Barberton District northwards along the low er slopes of the Drakensberg escarpment to the Pietersburg District, then presumably along the southern slopes of the Soutpansberg (but no records) to Mahlaguza Pan at the northern end of the Kruger National Park, where it is sympatric with Z. quadrifrons . In the southern part of its range it extends across the Kruger Park south of the Olifants River to the Lebombo Range.
