Diagnosis. The new species ( Figs 1–2 View FIGURES 1–6 ) is superficially similar to P. pinicortex ( Figs 3–4 View FIGURES 1–6 ), but can be easily separated from the latter by a well-developed pollex and a broad, ventrally concave cucullus in the male genitalia ( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 7–9 ), and corpus bursae with four long signum-stripes in the female genitalia ( Figs. 10–11 View FIGURES 10–12 ). It is also similar to P. ningshan Wang, Fan, Owada, Wang & Nylin, 2014 ( Figs. 5–6 View FIGURES 1–6 ) in wing patterns, but can be clearly distinguished from the latter by the male genitalia without a long digitiform process on juxta ( Figs. 7, 9 View FIGURES 7–9 ) and the female genitalia with a shorter anterior apophysis and the much longer signum-stripes ( Figs. 10, 12 View FIGURES 10–12 ).

Description. Male and female ( Figs. 1–2 View FIGURES 1–6 ). Forewing length 15–17 mm. Frons and vertex off-white, decorated with brick-red hairs. Compound eyes small. Proboscis well developed. Antenna filiform, with fine white cilia. Labial palpus short. Thorax and tegulae densely covered with yellow brown, purplish red and off-white hairs. Forewing ground color reddish orange, scattered with grey white scales, basal area of forewing ornamented with blood red patch and speckled with grey white scales; orbicular stigma orange; reniform stigma pale reddish orange, encircled with grey white scales; subterminal area with irregular, wavy, pale yellow stripe; fringe pale yellow between veins, reddish orange on veins; venation with R 1 arising near middle of costa of discal cell; R 2 and R 3+4 shortly stalked, R 3 stalked with R 4 about ½ length of R 3+4, R 2+3+4 and R 5 branching from upper angle of areole; M 1 arising from upper angle of discal cell; M 2, M 3 and CuA 1 originating from lower angle of discal cell. Hindwing and fringe pink white; venation with R s and M 1 short stalked, M 3 and CuA 1 arising from lower angle of discal cell. Tibial spur formula: 0-2-4. Abdomen orange yellow.

Male genitalia. ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7–9 ). Uncus digitiform, apical part somewhat dilated, rounded terminally. Tegumen small and narrow. Valva broad, with well-developed pollex at distal end of sacculus; cucullus blunt round, obtuse-angled, concave at ventral margin; corona absent; ampulla short, weakly sclerotized, curved medially, acute apically; harpe present, slender, needle-like. Saccus small, V-shaped. Aedeagus cylindrical, carina with sclerotized, approximately triangular lateral plate; vesica tubular distally, with small terminal cornutus.

Female genitalia. ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10–12 ). Anal papillae small, densely setose. Posterior apophysis approximately twice as long as anterior apophysis. Ostium bursae medium-sized, scalelike. Ductus bursae moderately long, entirely ribbed and sclerotized, posterior part broad, anterior part slender. Appendix bursae relatively short, twisted, ribbed. Corpus bursae somewhat oval-shaped, with four long signum-stripes.
