TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Baja California Sur, Santa Margarita Isl .
DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.
COMMENT: Lidicker, 1960, Univ. Calif. Publ. Zool., 67(2):204, included margaritae in merriami , but Huey, 1964, Trans. San Diego Soc. Nat. Hist., 13: 123, and Hall, 1981:587, considered margaritae as a distinct species.
