Epanerchodus koreanus Verhoeff, 1937 View in CoL

Epanerchodus View in CoL koreanus— Mikhaljova 2004: 215 (a detailed description and a complete bibliography list).

Material examined: 1 male, 1 female (NEIGAE), 1 male ( ZMUM), China, Jilin Prov., Changbai Shan Mts, Changbai Shan National Park, ca 128º50’E, 42º00’N, 1420–1500 m a.s.l., mixed forest, dead wood, September 2013, leg. D. Wu.

Remarks. This species is easily distinguished by its particularly broad and usually dark reddish-brown paraterga, coupled with a quite stable gonopod structure, including a bifid exomere ( Mikhaljova 2004). It has hitherto been known throughout Korea, as well as in Kyushu, Japan and the Maritime Province, Russia ( Mikhaljova 2004). The above samples thus represent the first formal record of E. koreanus in China.
