Comments. This species was identified based on its relatively stellate shape and the presence of enlarged superomarginals which are larger in size than the proximal superomarginals and most of the abactinal tubercles.

This is the first record of this species from New Caledonia and the third species of Asterodiscides from this region. Asterodiscides helenotus ( Fisher, 1913) and A. soelae Rowe, 1985 were documented from New Caledonia by Ameziane (2007).

Occurrence. South Australia , east to Kermadec Islands, New Caledonia. 14–792 m.
