Diagnosis. General body color brown to dark brown. Pronotum without maculae or pruinosity on anterior lobe. Forewings of brachypterous form leaving most of tergites and connexives VI–VII exposed; forewing dark brown with lighter veins, and a basal elongated white macula starting from humeral angle and ending adjacent to posterior margin of pronotum; at apex another white macula, small and oval, very close to the posterior margin of wing ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 19 A). Male abdominal sternites V–VII medially prominent and slightly flattened; male sternite VII with posterior margin slightly extended medially, with two lobes surrounding a central concavity. Paramere with many elongated setae on inner and outer surface, and subtruncate apex ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 B).
Discussion. Known from the brachypterous and macropterous forms, and previously recorded from Argentina and Uruguay. Herein the species is recorded for the first time from Brazil, based on material collected in São Paulo State.
Material examined. Brazil, São Paulo: 1 brachypterous male ( DZRJ), São José do Barreiro, Serra da Bocaina National Park, pool 2, 21.V.2009, (D.S. Provete) [first record from Brazil].
