Thailand: ―SOUTH-EASTERN. Trat: Khao Saming, 2 January 1930, A. F. G. Kerr 17914 (BK, BKF, BM, K).
Distribution: ―Endemic to Thailand (South-Eastern).
Ecology: ―Evergreen forest at an elevation of 50– 100 m.
Notes: ― Lasianthus aristatus was described by Craib (1933) from a Thai specimen (A. F.G. Kerr17914). Currently, this name is accepted in the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families (http://wcsp.science.kew.org/). We do not have additional specimens and we have not observed this species in the field. The type of Lasianthus aristatus differs from other Lasianthus species in having branches and branchlets that are villous, the leaves are chartaceous, oblong or suboblong 8‒12 × 3‒5 cm, apex acute or acuminate, base rounded with slightly oblique, villous, secondary veins 6‒7 pairs, petioles 4‒5 mm long hirsute, stipules triangular-lanceolate, 4‒5 mm long, densely hirsute, inflorescence bracts triangular 4 mm long densely hirsute, calyx obconical, calyx tube 1 mm long glabrous, lobes 5, lanceolate 3 mm long hirsute, corolla tube 6‒6.5 mm long, glabrous or subglabrous, corolla lobes 5, 4‒4.5 mm long villous; drupes with 5‒6 pyrenes.
