Notes: ―Herbarium specimens of Lasianthus constrictus are superficially similar to L. reticulatus Blume (1827:1000) but differ by having small leaves 7‒14 × 3‒5 cm, (3‒) 4 (‒5) pairs of lateral veins, calyx limb truncate or minutely toothed, fresh fruits 1.5‒2 cm diameter, drupes with 2‒4 pyrenes, 0.8‒1 cm diameter when dry, immature and mature fresh fruits with blue color. In contrast L. reticulatus has large leaves 20‒26 × 6‒9 cm, 5‒7 pairs of lateral veins, calyx campanulate, fresh fruits 0.8‒1 cm diameter, drupes with 1‒4 pyrenes, drupes 0.5‒0.8 cm when dried, immature fresh fruits green and blue when ripe. Lasianthus constrictus is also closely related to L. rabilii Craib (1933:24) from which it differs by having blue fresh fruits, drupes globose with base rounded and 0.8‒1 cm diameter, while L. rabilii has black fresh fruits and drupes that are globose with the base narrowed and 6‒7 mm diameter.
