Distribution: ― Malaysia (Borneo), Thailand (Peninsular).

Ecology: —Moist evergreen forest at an elevation of 700‒1200 m.

Notes: ― Lasianthus congesticymus was found for the first time among herbarium specimens collected in Peninsular Thailand. Morphologically it is similar to L. subcalvus Craib (1933:27) but it differs in having ellipsoid and rugose drupes that are 5 mm long, while L. subcalvus has fusiform drupes that are 1‒2 cm long. Lasianthus congesticymus is also similar to L. lancifolius Hook.f. (1880:187) in having globose drupes that are mostly glabrous and smooth ( Zhu 2001). In Thailand, Lasianthus congesticymus and L. subcalvus occur in the Peninsular region whereas L. lancifolius is found in the North Eastern region.
