T hailand: ―PENINSULAR. Nakhon Si Thammarat: Khao Luang National Park , 24 August 1995, K. Larsen et al. 45970 (AAU, BKF, PSU) ; Yala: Khao Han Kut , 27 March 1998, C. Niyomdham 5356 (AAU, BKF) .
Distribution: ― Malaysia (Peninsular, Borneo), Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan), Thailand (Peninsular).
Ecology: ―Moist evergreen forest, in shaded places at an elevation of 1200‒1300 m. Flowering in August and fruiting in September.
Notes: ― Lasianthus rhinocerotis subsp. rhinocerotis specimens from Thailand have leaves and calyx that that fit the original description of Blume. All specimens examined of this subspecies were found in peninsular Thailand and they have morphological characters that match Blume’s original description in the protologue.
