Distribution: — Myanmar, Malaysia (Peninsular, Borneo), Brunei, Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Moluccas), Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Thailand (Peninsular).

Ecology: —Moist evergreen forest, in shaded places at an elevation of 100‒ 600 m. Flowering in February‒March and fruiting in April‒June.

Notes: ― Lasianthus stipularis can be recognized by its large stipules that cover the cymes, easily observed both in the herbarium and in the field. Lasianthus stipularis is mostly glabrous, the leaf blades are membraneceous, apex cuspidate-caudate, base cuspidate-cuneate, stipules persistent, broadly ovate, covering the cymes, up to 1.5 cm long, cymes sessile, bracts numerous, linear to narrowly lanceolate and villous, 1‒1.5 cm long, drupes ovoid, glabrous, 4–5 mm diameter with 4 pyrenes.
