Thailand: —EASTERN. Chanthaburi: Khao Soi Dao, 12 August 2014, T. Napiroon, W. Aiyakool & B. Harwood 014 ( BKF). CENTRAL. Nakhon Nayok: Khao Yai National Park, 10 October 1999, Center for conservation biology, Mahidol Univ. s.n. ( BKF). SOUTH-WESTERN. Prachuap Khiri Khan: no date, T. Shimizu T7754 ( BKF).

Distribution: — Indonesia (Java, Sulawesi, Irian Jaya), Papua New Guinea, Thailand (Eastern, Central, South-western).

Ecology: —Evergreen forest, in shaded places at an elevation of 500‒ 700 m. Flowering and fruiting in JulyAugust.

Notes: ― Lasianthus tomentosus is similar to L. trichophlebus Hemsley (1888:388) but it differs by having tomentose (not densely hirsute) branches and branchlets, 3‒6 (not 7–9) pairs of lateral nerves, petioles tomentose (not strigillose), drupes subglobose, tomentose, (not subglobose, verrucose and sparely strigillose), pyrenes 5 (not 4 pyrenes).
