Distribution: — India (northeast), Bangladesh (east), China (Yunnan), Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia (Sumatra, Java), Thailand (Northern, North-Eastern, Eastern, South-Eastern).

Ecology: —Evergreen forest and hill evergreen forest, in shaded places, elevation 500‒1200 m. Flowering in July‒September and fruiting in October‒November.

Notes: ― Lasianthus inodorus can easily be recognized by the glabrous plants, mostly with branches and branchlets that are dark brown or black as seen in both fresh and dried material. Further more it has a 1‒2 cm long petiole, calyx campanulate, 0.8‒1 cm long, drupe large ovoid appearing black when ripe and dried. In Thailand, this species is commonly found in northern forests at an elevation of 800‒1000 m.
