Creophilus oculatus ( Fabricius 1775: 265) (Staphylininae)

Distribution. Australia, Chatham Islands, New Zealand, New Guinea, Society Islands.

Species described by Fabricius (1775: 265) from “Nova Hollandia and Nova Zelandia ”. Posteriorly, Gem- minger and Harold (1868: 575), by mistake attributed to Brazil. Clarke (2011a: 790) in his revision of Creophilus cited too it as an distribution error.

Ctenisis angustata Raffray 1897: 274 (Pselaphinae)

Distribution. Argentina.

Raffray (1897: 274) described this species from “des Pampas du Brésil ”, and thereafter referred to this locality as “Pampas” ( Raffray 1904b: 359; 1908a: 348; 1911: 151). Blackwelder (1944: 95) and Park

(1942: 293) treated this locality as located in Argentina, as were the other species proposed by Raffray with this type locality. Raffray’s original statement is the only one that refers it to Brazil, and is here treated as an error for Argentina.

Ecitopora fernandi Reichensperger 1935: 213

Distribution. Costa Rica.

Reichensperger (1935: 213) described this species from “Hamburg-Farm [El limón state] (Nevermann! [collector]); La Caja [San José state] (Schmidt! [collector])”. Both places belong to Costa Rica, but for a mistake Blackwelder (1944: 163), attributed this species to Brazil.
