Type data: Syntypes: Brazil. ‘ Matto Grosso’ [Mato Grosso do Sul]: Campo Grande [–20.450189°, –54.560608°], five ind. ( MNRJ 1379 View Materials ). Type : Brazil. ‘ Mato Grosso’ [Mato Grosso do Sul]: [Ribas do Rio Pardo], Bálsamo [–20.38248°, –53.94669°], (whereabouts unknown, holotype of A. armata ) .

Non-type material: Brazil. Mato Grosso do Sul: Campo Grande , 50 km S Campo Grande [–20.98449°, –54.63616°, 464 m], P Salinas leg., 17.vii.1988, three ind. ( AMNH AK 145 About AMNH ) .

Diagnosis: Differs from its congeners by having areas I–V armed with paramedian low spines and lateral margins of abdomen with strong rounded tubercles, perceptible in dorsal view ( Fig. 11 View Figure 11 ).

Distribution: Known from Cerrado ecoregion in Mato Grosso do Sul State of Brazil ( Fig. 10 View Figure 10 ).
