Parapelonides beckeri Barr, 1980: 281 . Holotype ♂ (CNCI), 12 kw Olanchito, HONDURAS, 1 1949, E. C. Becker.
Diagnosis. The reduced black maculae on the elytral disc will distinguish the members of this species from the superficially similar members of P. chamelae (compare Figs. 24 and 26 View Figs ).
Redescription of Holotype. Size: Length 4.0 mm; width 1.8 mm. Form: As in Fig. 24 View Figs . Integument: Cranium, pronotum, pterothorax, mesoscutellum, and abdomen reddish; elytral disc mostly reddish,
with 4 black maculae, 2 along the sutural margin and 2 at elytral middle; antennae and legs dark brown, except profemora yellowish at basal 2/3. Head: Cranium somewhat roughly punctate, inter- stitial spaces smooth and shiny; eyes narrower than frons (18:28) ommatidia small; funicular antennomeres subfiliform, capitular antennomeres 8 and 9 triangular ( Fig. 13 View Figs ). slightly elongate (70:75), sides slightly expanded at middle, disc somewhat roughly punctate, interstitial spaces smooth and shiny; each elytral disc sculptured with 10 asetiferous punctures and with smaller 1° setae above asetiferous punctures, interstitial spaces smooth and shiny; epipleural fold broad for most of its length, but eventually narrowed to elytral apex. Distribution. The only known specimen of this species was collected in Honduras ( Fig. 32 View Fig ).
