The Macronotops ovaliceps species group characterized by length of clypeus greater width, disc of pronotum with two pronotal ridges and a longitudinal glabrous ridge in medial, male protibia narrow, proximal tooth of male protibia usually indistinct, and outer tooth of male metatibia absent.
