Status in Afghanistan. First record from Afghanistan by Svetovidova (1967); confirmed by Coad (1981: 11; 2014: 181 as Leuciscus latus ( Keyserling 1861) ; 2015: 228 as Leuciscus latus ( Keyserling 1861)) .—Afghanistan materials: None.
Distribution and habitat. Distribution in Afghanistan: Harirud, Murgab, Tedzhen Rivers.—General distribution: Middle East and South Asia: Hari River basin ( Afghanistan and Iran).—Habitat: This species is a riverine species. Freshwater.
Economic importance. Locally commercially important.
Conservation. Conservation status in Afghanistan: Unknown.—IUCN: LC ( Karimov 2020e as Leuciscus latus ).— Threats: No information is available on threats to this species.—Low sensitivity to human activities.—Not considered as a keystone species.—Decline status: Unknown.—Low priority for conservation action.
