Type species.— Actinometra nigra Carpenter, 1888 .
Diagnosis.— A genus of Comatulidae with mouth excentric in fully developed specimens; centrodorsal circular, well-developed, and bearing cirri; IBr2 series united by synarthry; IIBr and beyond of two ossicles; arms arising from IBr with first syzygy at 3+4; arms arising from IIBr and beyond with first syzygy at 1+2 and/or 3+4; distal intersyzygial interval 4; distal-most pinnule comb on P6; comb teeth triangular, confluent with interior side of pinnule, diminishing in size distally, and tapering to blunt tip (from Summers et al. 2017).
