Diagnosis. Dorsal shield elongate-oval and reticulated throughout; seta Z5 barbed, other setae smooth; peritremes extending forward to level between j1 and j3. Posterior margin of sternal shield straight, st3 on sternal shield. Ventrianal shield pentagonal, as wide as genital shield. A pair of crescent solenostomes (gv3) posteromedial to JV2. Calyx of spermatheca bell-shaped with a short basal stalk. Adult males with setae R1 off dorsal idiosomal shield, spermatodactyl Lshaped.

Adult female (n = 7) ( Figs 1–3 View Figure 1 View Figure 2 View Figure 3 ).

Dorsal idiosoma ( Figs 1A View Figure 1 , 2A View Figure 2 ). Setal patterns 10A:9D/JV-3:ZV. Dorsal shield elongate oval, more than twice as long as wide, with a waist at level between s4 and Z1, 407 (376–418) long, 178 (159–183) wide; well reticulated throughout; bearing 17 pairs of setae, Z5 barbed, J5 basally barbed, S5 and JV5 sometimes each with a single barb, other setae smooth, Z5 at least twice as long as other setae; with seven pairs of solenostomes (gd1, gd2, gd4, gd5, gd6, gd8 and gd9) and 16 pairs of lyrifissures (id1, id2, id4, id5, id6, idl2, idl3, idl4, idm1, idm2, idm3, idm4, idm5, idm6, idx and is1); muscle marks visible mainly on podosomal areas between j3 and J2, a pair of muscle marks in front of J5. Setae r3 and R1 smooth, on soft membranous cuticle lateral of dorsal shield, r3 slightly posterior to level of z4, R1 lateral to shield incisions. Lengths of setae see Table 1. Peritremes extending forward to level between j1 and j3.

Ventral idiosoma ( Figs 1B View Figure 1 , 2B View Figure 2 ). Sternal shield longer than wide, 97 (91–99) long, 72 (69–72) wide, anterior edge convex, posterior margin straight and with a pair of small lateral lobe, bearing three pairs of attenuate setae (st1, st2 and st3) and two pairs of lyrifissures (iv1 and iv2), st3 on lobes; transverse and oblique striae present anterior to st1, longitudinal and oblique striae present between to st2; setae st4 and iv3 on metasternal platelets. Lengths of setae: st1 21 (18–22), st2 16 (14– 16), st3 16 (12–16), st4 19 (17–19), st5 18 (18–20). Genital shield 146 (127–146) long, 68 (63–71) wide at level of st5, with a few longitudinal striae. Ventrianal shield as wide as genital shield, approximate pentagonal, lateral margins without slight constrictions, loosely reticulate, 131 (120–132) long, 99 (96–106) wide, bearing three pairs of preanal setae (JV1, JV2 and ZV2); a pair of small crescent solenostomes (gv3) present posteromedial to JV2, gv3–gv3 42 (36–49). JV1 close to anterior margin of ventrianal shield, ZV2 at lateral margins. Four pairs of setae (ZV1, ZV3, JV4 and JV5), four pairs of lyrifissures and a pair of tiny platelets (sgpa) posteroparaxially to setae ZV1 present on soft cuticle surrounding ventrianal shield. Lengths of setae: JV1 12 (10–13), JV2 11 (11–13), JV4 13 (12–14), JV5 40 (37–41), ZV1 12 (11–16), ZV2 11(11–13), ZV3 12 (10– 14). Primary metapodal shield 32 (27–34) long, 8 (5–9) wide; secondary metapodal shield 13 (8–24) long, 3 (2–7) wide.

Spermatheca ( Figs 1D–E View Figure 1 , 2D View Figure 2 ). Atrium nodular, joined to calyx by a short stalk; basal stalk shorter than or near diameter of atrium; calyx bell-shaped, arms of calyx thick, 11 (9–12) long, 10 (8–11) wide; minor duct thread-like jointing atrium; major duct about half as wide as atrium.

Gnathosoma. Chelicera ( Figs 1C View Figure 1 , 2C View Figure 2 ) with movable digit 36 (35–37) long, bearing a tooth, fixed digit 34 (32–35) long, bearing seven visible teeth; pilus dentilis seven long and located at level of fifth tooth. Palp ( Fig. 3B View Figure 3 ). Trochanter with two simple setae; femur with a spatulate and four simple setae; genu with two rod-like and four simple setae. Tarsal apotele 2- tined. Hypostome ( Fig. 3A View Figure 3 ). With three pairs of hypostomal setae (h1, h2 and h3) and a pair of palpcoxal setae (pc), with seven rows of denticles; corniculi horn-like, with three pairs of muscle marks between pc.

Legs ( Fig 3C–F View Figure 3 ). Length of legs I–IV (from coxa to pretarsus): 334 (286–339), 273 (251–284), 280 (264–285), 377 (337–377); chaetotaxy of leg I–IV (from coxae to basitarsus) see Table 2. Legs I–III without macrosetae. Basitarsus of leg IV with a smooth macroseta, 60 (55–67) long.

Adult male (n = 7) ( Figs 4–5 View Figure 4 View Figure 5 ).

Dorsal idiosoma ( Figs 4A View Figure 4 , 5A View Figure 5 ). Dorsal shield reticulated throughout, 292 (286–307) long, 141 (127–153) wide, with a waist at level between s4 and Z1, bearing 18 pairs of setae, Z5 barbed, J5 basally barbed, S5 and JV5 sometimes each with a single barb, other setae smooth, Z5 at least twice or as long as other setae. Lateral setae r3 and R1 smooth, r3 on dorsal shield, R1 on soft interscutal membrane; with 17 pairs of visible lyrifissures (id1, id2, id3, id4, id5, id6, idm1. idm2, idm3, idm4, idm5, idm6, idl2, idl3, idl4, idx and is1) and eight pairs of solenostomes (gd1, gd2, gd3, gd4, gd5, gd6, gd8 and gd9), gd3 on interscutal membrane; muscle marks visible mainly on podosomal areas between j3 and Z4, a pair of muscle marks in front of J5. Lengths of setae: j1 18 (17–20), j3 21 (20–24), j4 10 (9–11), j5 11 (10–12), j6 13 (12–14), J2 14 (13–15), J5 10 (9–11), s4 25 (25–27), S2 25 (23–27), S4 26 (24–28), S5 34 (31–37), z2 16 (15–17), z4 16 (14–18), z5 11 (9–12), Z1 17(15–19), Z4 31 (29–35), Z5 63 (58–71), r3 24 (22–26), R1 22 (20–24). Peritremes extending between j1 and j3.

Ventral idiosoma ( Figs 4B View Figure 4 , 5B View Figure 5 ). Sternogenital shield lightly reticulate and with faint striae, 147 (141–152) long, 55 (54–57) wide at st2 level, anterior margin faint, posterior margin nearly straight, bearing five pairs of setae (st1–st5) and three pairs of lyrifissures (iv1, iv2 and iv3). Length of setae: st1 15 (14–16), st2 12 (10–13), st3 11 (9–12), st4 12 (10–14), st5 13 (11–14). Ventrianal shield subtriangular, middle of anterior margin straight and with a median lobe, reticulate throughout; 109 (102–117) long, 120 (109–133) wide at widest level, with three pairs of preanal setae (JV1, JV2 and ZV2), a pair of small crescent solenostomes (gv3) posteromedian to JV2, gv3–gv3 30 (25–37), four pairs of lyrifissures. A pair of JV5 (one seta with slightly serrated, another smooth) and three pairs of lyrifissures on membranous cuticles. Lengths of setae: JV1 9 (7–11), JV2 10 (9–10), JV5 36 (31–40), ZV2 12 (10–13).

Gnathosoma. Chelicera ( Figs 4C View Figure 4 , 5C View Figure 5 ). Spermatodactyl L-shaped; movable digit of chelicera 21 (19–22) long, bearing a tooth; fixed digit 24 (23–24) long, bearing seven teeth.

Legs. Leg chaetotaxy same as those in adult female.

Material examined. Holotype ♀, Bayannur, Inner Mongolia, 40°28'N, 108°11'E, elev. 1022 m, ex. Setaria viridis (L.) Beauv. , 21 July 2017, coll. Ruixia Meng and Qingyan Liu. Paratypes . 9♀ 7♂, same data as holotype ; 6♀, 13 September 2020, others same as holotype; 17♀ 9♂, 3 November 2020, others same as holotype.

Etymology. The specific name setarius is derived from the genus name of the host plant Setaria .

Remarks. This new species is similar to N. bicaudus ( Wainstein, 1962) , N. micmac (Chant & Hansell, 1971) and N. brachychaetus Kolodochka, 2018 . Its adult males can be easily distinguished from others by having setae R1 off dorsal shield (vs. R1 on dorsal shield in the latter three species). Detailed comparative information see Table 1.

This new species can be included in the paraki species subgroup. In addition, variation in the structure of a few setae was found: S5 are barbed (20 out of 33 specimens, 60.6%) or smooth (39.4%), JV5 are usually smooth (29 out of 33 specimens, 87.9%).
