Etymology. We dedicate this species to Professor Dr. Antonio D’Alessandro, as thanks for allowing us to study this interesting material and as acknowledgement of his important studies on American trypanosomiasis ( Carcavallo & Barreto 1976: 183).
Original citation. “Dedicamos esta especie al Profesor Dr. Antonio D’Alessandro, como agradecimiento a permitirnos estudiar este interesante material y como reconocimiento a sus importantes estudios sobre Tripanosomosis americana” ( Carcavallo & Barreto 1976: 183).
