Hypocnemis subflava Cabanis View in CoL
Hypocnemis subflava Cabanis, 1873a: 65 View in CoL .
Now: Hypocnemis cantator subflava Cabanis, 1873 ( Dickinson 2003: 390) View in CoL or Hypocnemis subflava Cabanis, 1873 ( Isler et al. 2007) View in CoL . See also Cory & Hellmayr (1924: 243).
Type series: Cabanis (1873a: 65) based this species on an unspecified number of specimens, but Taczanowski (1874: 530) listed only one relevant specimen (said to be a male), which is thus the holotype of this species. The holotype was deposited in the MIZ ( Taczanowski 1889: 20), but was destroyed in the 1920s (cf. Sztolcman & Domaniewski 1927: 123; see Mlíkovský 2009b for details).
Holotype (lost): MIZ unnumbered, 3, collected by Jelski on an unknown date [= August to December 1870] at "Monterico" [= Monterrico, Peru].
Type locality: "Monterico" ( Cabanis 1873a: 65), i.e. Monterrico, Peru [12.05°S, 74.10°W].
