Myiothlypis striaticeps Cabanis
Myiothlypis striaticeps Cabanis, 1873c: 316 .
Now: Basileuterus luteoviridis striaticeps (Cabanis, 1873) View in CoL . See Hellmayr (1935: 479).
Type series: Cabanis (1873c: 316) based this species on one or more males deposited in the ZMB. The Accession Catalogue of the ZMB listed only one relevant specimen, which is thus the holotype of this species. We did not find this specimen in 2008.
Holotype (lost): ZMB 21192 (B-9967), 3, collected by Jelski on an unknown date [= May to August 1871] at "Maraynioc" [= Maraynioc, Peru].
Type locality: Maraynioc ( Cabanis 1873c: 316), i.e. Maraynioc, Peru [11.37°S, 75.40°W].
Remarks: Taczanowski (1889) correctly did not include Myiothlypis striaticeps in his list of birds whose type specimens are deposited in the MIZ. Sztolcman & Domaniewski (1927: 165) wrote that the MIZ had possessed a type specimen of this species, which is incorrect, because the MIZ never did so (see Mlíkovský 2009b for details).
