Distribution. SE Europe ( Skuhrovec 2013)

Material examined. Chernivtsi Prov.: 2 syntypes ( SMTD) near Chernivtsi, Zhuchka , K.A. Penecke leg., 26.vi.1928 ; Ternopil Prov.: 4 spec. ( SIZK) Husiatyn Distr., Medobory State Nature Reserve, near Vikno , V. Yu. Nazarenko leg., 29.vi.1996 ; 1 spec. mature larva, ( SIZK) Gusyatin Distr., Mt. Gostra , on Centaurea scabiosa , 49°21´22.7˝ N, 26°04´25.7˝ E, V. Yu. Nazarenko leg., 26.vi.2007 GoogleMaps .

Biology. Meadows, shrublands in mountains and hills. Adults occur in V–VI, mating in IX–XI. On Centaurea spinulosa ( Penecke 1928) , C. scabiosa , C. pseudocoriacea . In vitro feeds on C. jacea and other Centaurea species ( Asteraceae ) (Nazarenko 2000).
