( 1849: 83). Lectotype (designated by Burdet et al. 1983):– PORTUGAL. [Estremadura]: ‘ prope Cintra Lusitaniae in petrosis ’, April 1838, Guthnik s.n. ( G).

Note: The protologue refers to a single collection. (“ Hab. in petrosis prope Cintra Lusitaniae ubi legit cl. et am. Guthnick.”). Ohle (1974) cited two duplicates of that collection, at G and JE. Burdet et al. (1983: 766) designated the specimen at G as lectotype.

= Calendula microcephala Lange in Henriques (1883: 51) nom. illeg. non Kralik ex Reichenbach (1853: 99, t. 891). Calendula lusitanica var. microcephala Mariz (1891: 240) . Type:– PORTUGAL. [Estremadura]: Serra de Monsanto, Abril 1880, Moller 26 (holotype C! C10013039).

= Calendula lusitanica var. transtagana Mariz (1891: 240) . Lectotype (designated by Gonçalves et al. 2018):– PORTUGAL. Estremadura: Rampa de l’estuaire du Tage près Almada, April 1883, Daveau 979 (COI! COI00023378).
