Description of Vibrio pacinii HMG View in CoL 3256

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are cream colored after incubation for 2 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for indole production and urease. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-mannose, capric acid, adipic acid, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3256 (= NIBRBAC000509543) was isolated from a soil sample at Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
