Description of Pseudomonas capeferrum AS 568

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are cream colored after incubation for 3 days on R2A at 28°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for nitrate reduction, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, urease, gelatin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase. Capric acid and malic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain AS 568 (= NIBRBAC000509512) was isolated from a soil sample at Anseong, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
