Blapticus laticinctus ( Cresson, 1868) Townes & Townes 1966

The species was originally described as Tryphon laticinctus ( Cresson 1868) from the surroundings of Cordova (Córdoba), state Veracruz, Mexico, from a single female specimen stored in the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia (USA), and the male of this species is still unknown. Townes & Townes (1966) considered this species within the genus Blapticus Förster. As was mentioned above, the genus Blapticus was synonymized under Symplecis Förster ( Rossem 1981) , but although some Palaearctic Blapticus species were transferred to Gnathochorisis , B. laticinctus was retained as a Symplecis species ( Yu et al. 2012). According to the species description, it does not belong to the genus Symplecis . Such combination of characters as a long ovipositor equal to the length of the first metasomal segment, well developed propodeal carination forming distinct dorsolateral apophyses, and robust legs with swollen hind femora ( Cresson 1868), are evidence that it is a representative of Gnathochorisis , and this species should obviously be considered there.
