Type locality. South of Santa Cruz Island (33°45.85’N, 119°39.25’W), Southern California Bight, California, USA, 1808 m GoogleMaps .

Type material. Paratype USNM 860390 About USNM (1 spm + 1 slide with sclerites + 1 slide with radula) .

Remarks. Scheltema (1998) recorded that this species was described from only two specimens. The holotype is in the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Los Angeles, USA (LACM 2748).
