Stenopterus hirtipes Klug, 1825: 473 , pl. 44, fig. 9.

Acyphoderes hirtipes ; White, 1855: 196; Monné, M. A., 2005: 456 (cat.); Monné, M. L. et al. 2009: 20 (distr.); Monné, M. L. et al., 2010: 242 (distr.).

The male specimen of Stenopterus hirtipes Klug, 1825: 473 , pl. 44, fig. 9 ( Figure 10 ), with the labels Rio [Rio de Janeiro], Olfers, (Acc 19917), is herein designated as the lectotype ( Figure 11 ) in order to stabilize the taxonomy and facilitate further identifications of this species; 3 female specimens with the same locality "miserunt Dr. de Olfers et Sellow" are herein designated as paralectotypes.

Type material. Lectotype male ( Figure 11 ) (present designation): “ hirtipes Kl / Rio. v. Olf.” “19917” and “ LECTOTYPE / Acyphoderes hirtipes ( Klug, 1825) / des. Monné & Monné 2015” ( ZMHB).

Paralectotypes: 1 male, 1 female, same labels: “Hist. Coll. ( Coleoptera ) / Nr. 19917 / Stenopterus / hirtipes Klug. / Rio / Zool. Mus. Berlin” and “ PARALECTOTYPE / Acyphoderes hirtipes ( Klug, 1825) / des. Monné & Monné 2015” ( ZMHB).

Distribution. Brazil (Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul), Argentina (Misiones).
