Primagistemus wuyiensis sp. nov. ( Figs. 1317 View FIGURES 13 17 )
Material examined. Holotype female, on leaves of Araucaria sp., Wuyi Mountain , Fujian, China, 11.viii.1994, Fan QingHai. In the collection of Department of Plant Protection, Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China . Paratypes. One female, 2 deutonymphs, same data as holotype .
Diagnosis. Adult females of Primagistemus wuyiensis sp. nov. are characterized by having all dorsal body setae (except sci) truncated, which differ from tapered setae of P. loadmani . More diagnostic features are listed in key to species above.
Description of female (n=2)
Gnathosoma. Chelicerae conical ( 114116 m); movable digits long ( 61 m), about onehalf length of chelicerae. Palp robust ( 8995 m); dorsal femoral seta truncated distally; tarsus extending beyond tip of tibial claw; accessory claw slender, slightly shorter than palptibial claw. Counts of setae, solenidia and claws on palp (from trochanter to tarsus): 0, 3, 1, 2 + 1 spinlike accessory claw + 1 claw, 4 + 1 + 1 subterminal eupathidium + 3 basally fused eupathidia. Subcapitulum plain, without clear punctation; subcapitular setae m ( 2829 m) much shorter than n ( 4648 m); distance between m m ( 3839 m) wider than it between n n ( 3133 m) and 3 times as wide as distance between mn ( 1213 m).
Idiosoma. Oval in shape ( 380386 m long, 245249 m wide). Dorsal body setae (except sci) truncated, terminating abruptly in jagged ends, but without clear tubercles at their bases. Propodosomal setae vi ( 3438 m) about 1.4 times distance between vivi ( 25 26 m); ve ( 4548 m) 1.4 times distance between vesci ( 3033 m); sci minute ( 1011 m), mediad of sce in the same row, nearly onefourth distance between scisce ( 3840 m); sce ( 5153 m) slightly longer than ve; ratio ve/sci = 4.1, ve/sce = 0.9. Central hysterosomal shield broad, bearing 3 pairs of setae, c1 ( 3539 m), d1 ( 2932 m) and e1 ( 25 26 m); c1 about onethird distance between c1c1; d1 less than onethird distance between d1d1; e1 nearly twofifths distance between e1e1. Setae c2 ( 5658 m), d2 ( 3941 m), e2 ( 2932 m) and f1 ( 3235 m) arise from platelets. Ratio c1c1: d1d1: e1e1: f1f1 = 1.6: 1.7: 1: 1.8. Distances between setae, c1c1 = 103 ( 99104 m), c1d1 = 71 ( 6874 m), d1 d1 = 111 ( 109115 m), d1d2 = 41 ( 3943 m), d1e1 = 55 ( 5455 m), e1e1 = 65 ( 6071 m), e1e2 = 33 ( 2835 m), e1f1 = 46 m, f1f1 = 117 ( 113120 m). Suranal shield integral, bearing 2 pairs of setae ( h1 and h2), h1 ( 3839 m) shorter than h2 ( 4345 m). Distances between setae: h1h1 = 30 ( 2931 m), h1h2 = 33 m. Ventral setae 3 pairs ( 1a, 3a and 4a), 1a ( 4043 m) and 3a ( 3842 m) slightly longer than 4a ( 3335 m). Aggenital setae 3 pairs ( ag1, ag2 and ag3); ag1 ( 3031 m) on small platelets; ag2 ( 2627 m) and ag3 ( 48 m) situated on a horseshoelike shield. Genital setae 1 pair, g1 ( 4042 m), its tip reaching base of ps2. Pseudanal setae 3 pairs ( ps3, ps2 and ps1), ps3 ( 2627 m) tapered, ps2 ( 2728 m) and ps1 ( 2930 m) truncated distally.
Legs. Length (from base of trochanter to tip of tarsus): leg I = 232 ( 225236 m), leg II = 175 ( 169179 m), leg III = 168 ( 160170 m), leg IV = 198 ( 187202 m). Dorsal setae d on femora IIV, on genera I, II and IV truncated as dorsal body setae. Tarsi IIV each bearing 1 solenidion, I = 14 ( 1315 m), II = 13 ( 1314 m), III = 8.5 m, IV = 6 m. Counts of setae and solenidia on legs IIV: coxae 2, 1, 2, 2; trochanters 1, 1, 1, 0; femora 5, 4, 3, 2; genua 3 + 1, 2, 0, 0; tibiae 5 + 1 p, 5 + 1 p, 5 + 1 p, 5 + 1 p; tarsi 13 + 1, 9 + 1, 7 + 1, 7 + 1.
