Mantispa rufescens Latreille, 1807 View in CoL ; synonymized by Erichson (1839).
Mantis nana Lichtenstein, 1802 ; synonymized by Ohl (2004a).
Distribution. India (Tamil Nadu).
Remarks. Olivier described Mantis nabota from Coromandel in Tamil Nadu, India. Ohl 2004a has given this species a status of unplaced in any genus and considered it as unplaced nomina dubia. But probably, this species may belong either to Mantispa or Mantispilla . This could only be determined by studying the type material or by collecting additional specimens. So at this stage we are keeping it as Mantispa nabota (Olivier, 1797) .
