Type :— KAZAKHSTAN. Alatau, s.d., Schrenk s.n. (lectotype BR0000005430871 !, designated here) ; isolectotypes KFTA0001357!, PH 00020174 !
Notes:— Schrenk (1841) described Pedicularis rhinanthoides based on the specimens collected by him from Alatau, Kazakhstan. Three specimens of Schrenk from Alatau, Kazakhstan were traced, one each at BR, KFTA and PH (BR0000005430871, KFTA0001357 and PH 00020174), but no original material is found at LE herbarium. Therefore, the better preserved specimen BR0000005430871, is designated here as the lectotype.
