Type :— NEPAL. Gossain Than, s.d., Wallich cat. n. 415 (lectotype K000739097!, designated here) ; isolectotypes CAL!, K000739098!, K001109992!
Notes:— Pedicularis mollis was described by Bentham (1835) based on the specimens of Wallich from Gossain Than, Nepal. Four specimens of Wallich from Gossain Than, Nepal were traced (CAL, K000739097, K000739098 and K001109992). Of these, the better preserved specimen K000739097 from herbarium Benthamianum, is designated here as the lectotype. The date 1829 mentioned on the sheet K000739097, is the date of inclusion of this specimen in the Wallich catalogue (Wallich cat. n. 415), not the year of collection.
