Distribution in Iran. Ardabil (Ghahari and Fischer 2011a; Sedighi and Madjdzadeh 2015).

Distribution outside Iran. A frequent species, reported from several countries of Europe, eastwards distributed as far as Georgia and Azerbaijan in Caucasus and Greece ( Papp 2003a). Azerbaijan, Canary Islands, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland ( Yu et al. 2012), Belgium ( Wesmael 1835 as Leiophron fuscipes ; Yu et al. 2012), Russia and adjacent countries ( Belokobylskij 1992; Yu et al. 2012), Turkey ( Koldaş et al. 2007, 2013; Yilmaz et al. 2010; Yu et al. 2012), UK ( Marshall 1889; Broad and Shaw 2009; Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. This species is reported on Elachista trapeziella Stainton ( Lepidoptera : Elachistidae ) ( Koldaş et al. 2007; Yu et al. 2012).
