Raglius alboacuminatus alboacuminatus ( Goeze, 1778)

Cimex albo-acuminatus Goeze, 1778: 266. For Cimex no. 29 in Geoffroy, 1762: 450. Syntype (s): France: “environs de Paris”; lost ( Péricart 2001: 208).

Cimex caffer Thunberg, 1784: 59 . Syntype (s): Caput bonae spei [= South Africa: Cape of Good Hope] (in error); depository not stated. Synonymized by Stål (1867: 382), with pedestris ; confirmed subjective synonym.

Lygaeus pedestris Panzer, 1797: 14 . Syntype (s): Germany; depository not stated. Synonymized by Reuter (1885: 228).

Type material examined. Cimex caffer . Lectotype (present designation) ♂ ( Fig. 6 ): “Uppsala Univ. Zool. Mus . / Thunbergsaml. nr. 17527 / Alydus caffer / Mus . Thunb. TYP” [red, printed]; “ LECTOTYPUS / Cimex caffer / Thunberg, 1784 / desig. Kondorosy, 2013” [with red frame, printed]; “( Alydus ) / caffer / Mus . Thunb.” [handwritten ( Fig. 7 )]; deposited in UPSZ.

Discussion. The lectotype of Cimex caffer ( Fig. 6 ) is admittedly conspecific with R. alboacuminatus , therefore the synonymy proposed by Stål (1867) and equivocally followed by subsequent authors is confirmed.
