Additional material. Collection of ZMMU has 93 lots (nearly 170 specimens) of C. (C.) doriae mainly from Vietnam (throughout the country), but also from E Nepal (Sagarmatha Zone, Koshi Province), W Nepal (Dhaulagiri Zone, Gandaki Province), Malaysia (Pahang State), Indonesia (Sumatra), Philippines ( Luzon ), E Indonesia (West Papua Province), Tonga Islands ( Niuafo’ou Island ), Kazakhstan ( Turkistan formerly South Kazakhstan Region, ZMMU Rc 7713–7715), Uzbekistan ( Surxondaryo or Surkhandarya Region , ASU 445 , Figs 15, 16 View FIGURES 12–19 ) and Tajikistan (Sughd Province, ZMMU Rc 8000, 8001, 8292 and Khatlon Region, ZMMU Rc 7951, 8022) .
Diagnosis. See Schileyko (2007: 88), Lewis (2013: 14) and Schileyko & Stoev (2016: 264).
Ecology in Martinique. These small cryptopids are widespread in Martinique, especially in cultivated areas; they can be found in the soil at a depth of 10 cm or more, which indicates the endogenous nature of this species.
Range of C. doriae (after Schileyko & Stoev 2016: 264, extended). It is the most widespread and common Cryptops species in South Asia and neighboring regions, found in Myanmar, East and West Nepal, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia (Java and Sumatra Islands), E Indonesia, New Guinea Island, Philippines (Luzon and Panay Islands), SW Australia (Collie), Tonga Islands (Niuafo’ou Island), Seychelles. Kazakhstan (Turkistan Region), Uzbekistan (Surxondaryo Region;) and Tajikistan (Sughd Province and Khatlon Region) were added to the range of this species recently ( Dyachkov 2023). This species is introduced into the Lesser Antilles ( Martinique); it has been also found in the UK in a “wet tropical biome … in Cornwall ” ( Lewis 2007).
Remarks. The studied specimens undoubtedly belong to the doriae -group (sensu Lewis, 2013: 2) by the main diagnostic characters (absence of transverse suture of tergite 1 and presence of saw tooth on the ultimate leg femur) and closely corresponding morphologically with C. (C.) doriae . The latter species is the most widespread (and abundant) one of this group and is widely introduced in various parts of the World, including Europe (in heated greenhouses; Lewis 2007, 2013), the most recent report being from Switzerland ( Gilgado et al., 2022). Thus we tentatively regard the studied form (which is well acclimatized in Martinique) as C. (C.) doriae .
We believe this species to be much more widespread than currently reported due to a lack of sufficient samples and certain difficulties in identifying small cryptopids.
