Eupithecia assimilata Doubleday, 1856 , The Zoologist 14: 5140, 5142. Syntype (s) ( BMNH), [ United Kingdom].
This species is holarctic, and had earlier been recorded for areas bordering Mongolia, such as the Altai Mts. ( Mironov, 1989 a) and Dahuria region ( Kostjuk, 1992; Kostjuk & al., 1994). It had not previously been recorded from Mongolia itself.
Material examined. 1 ♀, Mongolia, Selenge aimag, Mandal sum, Erooriver, 1–2.viii. 2002, leg. C. Gantigmaa, Mironov slide no. 835 ♀ (coll. Gy.M. László).
