Perennial with branched woody stock and numerous non-flowering rosettes; flowering stems 15-30 cm, simple, appressed-setose. Lower leaves 30-50 x 2-4 mm, linear or linear-lanceolate, densely white or grey appressed-setose; upper leaves green above, white or grey appressed-setose beneath. Inflorescence simple or with few short branches; pedicels 1 -4 mm; bracts shorter than calyx. Calyx 6-8 mm in flower, 10-13 mm in fruit, appressed-setose. Corolla 16-22 mm, pale yellow, glabrous but shortly papillose, 2-3 times as long as calyx. Nutlets 2-3 mm, smooth. S.E. Russia, E. Ukraine. Rs (C, E).
