Like (b) but upper cauline leaves not or scarcely connate at base; calyx-lobes lanceolate, distinctly 3-veined, twice as long as tube. 2« = 20. Damp places near the sea, rarely inland. S.W. Europe extending to S. Italy and Sicilia.
