Plant 15—25(—35) cm, glabrous, often slightly rough. Leaves 20-25 x 5-9 mm, obovate-spathulate, obtuse, 1-veined, on somewhat woody basal branches 2-3 cm. Inflorescence pyramidal; non-flowering branches absent. Spikes usually lax, with 4-6 spikelets per cm; spikelets 1- to 2(-3)-flowered. Inner bract 4-4-5 mm; outer bract overlapping J of the inner. Calyx 4-5-5 mm, exceeding bracts by c. 1 mm; limb 1j times as long as the tube. Rocky slopes near the sea. • Islands o f W. Mediterranean region. BI Si.
