Stems 20-50 cm, erect; young twigs puberulent. Leaves 1O-4O(-5O) x 4—10(—15) mm, elliptic-oblong, entire to obscurely serrate, covered with brownish scales beneath. Bracts similar, but progressively smaller upwards. Racemes inclined or horizontal, with 5-20 pendent flowers. Bracteoles and calyx c. 2 mm. Corolla 5-6 mm, white.
