Leaves ovate, cuneate to rounded at base. Cauline scales 1-2. Pedicels 4-8 mm. Calyx-lobes 3 -5^4-5 mm, linear-lanceolate, acuminate. Anthers 2-3~2-8 mm. Style 6-10 mm. 2n = 46. Woods, bogs and fens. Almost throughout the range of the species.
